Young people face many challenges as they grow one profound one being identity crisis. They struggle to live with themselves comfortably. They struggle to accept who they are, their parents, siblings, and relatives. They face challenges to live in harmony with other people at school and the community at large. Some struggle with inferiority complex, low self-esteem and self -worth. Some young people are abused and labeled failures by the community and sadly their guardians or care takers damaging their image.
The son initiative’s life-skills program aims at helping young people develop skills of living with themselves and others harmoniously as well as make effective decisions while having fun.





The program uses games as a useful and effective tool of teaching and discovery. Games provide a plat form for interaction and knowledge sharing. Games provide a practical, exciting, interesting and fun avenue for teaching life skills in a practical way. Games and competition reveal human nature.
Rarely unnoticed things relating to life skills such as managing success, handling loss, assertiveness, managing emotions, working with other people towards a common good, decision making, goal setting, personal strength, group strengthen, gender sensitivity, respect, self-control among others surface.
Unexpected and spontaneous scenarios created by the games give a glimpse into the underlying relationship, behavioral and attitude issues among teenagers. These can be used for great lessons and yet also utilize the youthful energies while having fun.
